Projects

Blatchford Stage 1

  • In the new Blatchford neighborhood in the City of Edmonton a community geothermal system was incorporated. This was a first for the City and LAFORCE Construction was engaged to fuse, test and commission the HDPE geothermal pipe for it. LAFORCE had to meet very stringent testing and quality control guidelines.

  • Due to our years of experience working with HDPE and the unique procedure that we proposed that tested and commissioned the line; LAFORCE helped successfully complete the task sooner than planned.

Silent Aire Building

  • A new 4 meter deep gravity fed sanitary sewer service was required to service a busy industrial building through an existing parking lot. Hundreds of workers and vehicles occupied the building around the clock and their schedule could not be interrupted. LAFORCE was engaged to fuse and directional drill the sewer line which included very strict tolerances since the line had to be on grade with no sags or low spots.

  • LAFORCE successfully completed the work by utilizing the latest drilling tracking software. The line was CCTV inspected immediately after completion and put in service later that same day.

Edgemont Stage 9

  • In the Edgemont neighbourhood in the City of Edmonton a HDPE watermain loop was proposed to cross a sensitive, deep environmental reserve ravine to service a new residential area. LAFORCE was engaged to fuse and directional drill the line which included vertical and horizontal curves in very poor ground conditions.

  • LAFORCE successfully completed the work by utilizing the latest drilling tracking software and by having HDD rigs on both ends of the drill path to ensure it was never lost.
